Learning Lab 26/2

The second Learning Lab session on 6 May 2026 proved once again to be a deeply thought-provoking and intellectually creative event.

A doctoral researcher, Ohin Cheng, presented a part of his PhD project on theology and mysticism. Entitled “The Goal of Salvation: Union with God and Deification",” he led the exploration on the topic through the writings of two close friends from the 12th century, Bernard of Clairvaux and William of Saint-Thierry. In conversation with their writings, the group reflected on the beauty and challenge of being in a loving relationship with God and explored how a humanly disordered love can be transformed into the perfect likeness of God's relational Love.

The Learning Lab is a network of academics connected to Anglican churches in Belgium with the objective to stimulate co-learning and cross-pollination of ideas, in service to church and the wider society.
