The Anglican Institute in Belgium organized the pilot session of its educational program centered on the intersection of culture and ministry on 8 October 2026 in Drongen Abbey. The workshop was led and facilitated by Rebecca Breekveldt, the Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Anglican Church in Belgium.
The participants came from different chaplaincies in the Diocese in Europe, with varying levels of experience in ministry and hold multiple cultural identities.
Being a pilot session, the workshop covered two topics — on communication styles and the role of trust in building and working in multi-cultural teams and groups — as referenced in the book, The Culture Map by Erin Meyer. Based on the experience and feedback of the participants, the AIB is in the process of developing the complete pack of modules on the topic of culture and ministry, especially in the context of church-led spaces.
