William Tyndale

Five hundred years ago, William Tyndale’s New Testament became the first English New Testament to be printed from the original Greek text. Tyndale lived in exile on the continent and was executed at the stake in Vilvoorde, north of Brussels, ten years later. His translation profoundly influenced the religion and politics of the Tudor age, as well as later translations and generations.
