Lumko Bible Study with RJBC

Lumko Bible Study

Stay Awake: Listening for God's Voice in Times of Uncertainty

Join the Racial Justice & Beloved Community Ministry Team for a Lumko Bible Study.

In a world marked by division, fear, injustice, and uncertainty, how do we listen faithfully to Scripture? How do we hear God's voice together—not simply to gain information, but to be transformed?

Join the Racial Justice & Beloved Community Ministry Team for an experience of Lumko Bible Study, a contemplative and deeply communal way of engaging the Bible that values every voice and invites us to listen with both heart and mind.

The Lumko Bible Study is a prayerful method of reading Scripture that emphasizes:

  •  Deep listening rather than debate

  •  Multiple voices and perspectives

  •  Historical imagination—hearing Scripture as its first listeners might have heard it

  •  Personal transformation

  •  Communal discernment

  •  Prayerful response leading to faithful action

Rather than asking, "What do I think about this passage?" we ask, "How is God speaking to us today?"

Everyone Is Welcome

Whether you are:

  •  new to Scripture,

  •  a lifelong Bible reader,

  •  questioning,

  •  searching,

  •  or simply longing for a space of holy listening,

you are warmly invited.
